DREAMS OF AVALON
This potion presented itself to me in a dream.
I saw the ruins of a medieval keep, built high along a shore - the skeleton
of the structures was still there, but it was empty. I thought, it's not
supposed to be empty - there was so much activity here. It's supposed to
be packed with people, with life, with sounds, with smells. And as I thought
this, things began to shimmer before me....
Young warriors practicing swordplay, kicking up dirt and tending to horses
impatiently waiting their turn. The smell of Hay and freshly turned Earth...
Young ladies dancing through wildflowers in a field. Daffodils, Heather...
A woman collecting wild herbs, tree sap and bark on the verge of a wood...
and the scent of the sea, churned by the tempestuous waves.
When I awoke in the middle of the night, I was compelled to go to my lab
and recreate the scents I experienced in this dream. It was one of those
dreams that, you know...means something, even if you don't know exactly
what it could be.
And the potion came out breathtakingly beautiful. Fresh, natural, elemental.
Ahhh, I love it. Every breath fills me with...I dunno...something magical.
When I fired up my computer the following morning, there was an email from
my friend Cindy of the wonderful mystical shop, The Next Millennium, (www.MagicalOmaha.com).
This is a copy / paste of what she wrote:
"I am starting a new site - Dreams of Avalon. I would love a special, romantic
Celtic legend-y blend for it. Could you brew one up for me?"
I was stunned.
I have this potion to-do list, you see - on the very top of my list is the
word AVALON - a Celtic island ruled by feminine energy and magic, home of
Faeries and Morgan La Fey.
I called Cindy right away, and asked her to explain more about what she
had in mind. I had to interrupt almost immediately. "I dreamed it, I dreamed
it!", I exclaimed, "It's already done!"
Cindy envisioned the label with a Lisa Iris painting.
And coincidently, Lisa had this gorgeous finished painting available
of *Morgan La Fey*.
I blended this using the ingredients that were presented to me in the dream,
and I did not look up their magical meanings until afterwards. You might
be interested to know that it contains:
3 ingredients for clairvoyance and elemental magic
3 ingredients for fertility / creativity
3 ingredients for enhancement of beauty
6 ingredients for love and sensuality
and more for strength and confidence, protection, riches, and blissful
happiness.
A Goddess Potion! And apparently fit for the Fae Queens of Avalon themselves.
It does seem that this potion manifested itself - using us as the tools
for its creation. Perhaps you are reading this now because you are part of
this strange magickal circle too, and were meant to do so?
