The early Trick-or-Treaters of Scotland and Ireland went round
to farmer's houses for treats of coin or fresh buttered bread. The tradition
continues and crosses the pond in this more modern American treat - the fragrance
of fresh buttered popcorn balls, drizzled with milk chocolate and caramel!

In parts of Ireland, Halloween and Trick-or-Treating was often
combined in the phrase Oidhche Na H-Aimléise, "the night of mischief
or con". Boys assembled and blew horns, going round to the farmer's houses
- then, a kind of cheeky blackmail where treats or money were jokingly demanded,
and happily given.
This is one of my favorite treats: popcorn balls drizzled with milk chocolate
and caramel!
Corn is traditionally used for Protection,
Luck, Divination. It represents fertility and is used to invoke Mother Earth.
It teaches the mystery of life, death, and rebirth.
Chocolate - Lightens emotions, evokes feelings
of love.
Caramel - Attracts love, luck, sweetness and riches. Lust inducing.
