The twenty days of Toxcatl ~ approximately May 4th-May 23rd ~ mainly revolved around a young man who was chosen as the earthly incarnate of Tezcatlipoca. Chosen a year before, based upon both appearance and manners, the earthly representative had to be handsome, cultured and refined. For the rest of the year he was considered the God, Himself.

When Toxcatl came the next year, he would be wedded to four women who were themselves earthly embodiment of four goddesses. They represented physical pleasures of life - sexual love, food, drink and spice. At the end of the twenty days, he would give himself to Tezcatlipoca under the moon with self-sacrifice.

I wanted to so something that evoked those 20 days of passion - something spicy, sexy and intoxicating. I used the ancient ingredients of the Aztecs: fruity sangria wine, just a touch of Xocoatl, tobacco flowers, spices and ancient South American fruit and florals. Aztec Moon is a Passion Potion that takes the wearer to a more uninhibited time, a heady intoxicant that is all things passion.
